Sunday, 17 June
Depart from Elite Coach, 1685 W. Main St, Ephrata, PA at 3:00 PM… charter bus takes us to New York’s JFK airport… Portuguese TAP Airlines (TAP) Flight #208 departs JFK at 11:25 PM (meals provided).

Monday, 18 June
TAP flight #208 arrives in Lisbon (LIS) at 11:20 AM… TAP flight #1304 departs LIS at 1:30 PM and arrives at Prague Airport at 5:30 PM… 2.5 hour bus ride to Cesky Krumlov (CK) where we will stay for 2 nights at 4 star Hotel Bellevue (www.bellevuehotelkrumlov.cz )

Tuesday, 19 June
We will have a leisurely day in CK… I will lead walks… Cesky Krumlov is one of the prettiest towns in Bohemia, a living gallery of elegant Renaissance-era buildings, charming cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, and galleries… it is a UNESCO site known for its historic importance and physical beauty…the River Vltava winds through the old town… stay in CK

Wednesday, 20 June
1 hour drive to Trebon, a perfectly preserved walled town set among the region’s largest fish ponds… Trebon is as medieval and minute as they come… the old town only has four streets, although its 14th century brewery offers tours…visit some other small towns on our 1 hour journey to Telc, a perfect 16th century provincial town where we will spend 1 night at the 3 star Hotel Celerin (www.hotelcelerin.cz)

Thursday, 21 June
2 hour bus ride to Prague… 3 days of sightseeing in Prague, a city with a rich collection of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance buildings…walking in the intricate cobblestone streets and alleys of Old Town… ample time for independent exploration… stay 3 nights at the 4 star Hotel Metamorphis (www.hotelmetamorphis.cz )… our hotel has a great location is the Old Town.

Friday, 22 June and Saturday, 23 June
2 full days of sightseeing and walks…
• Perched high above the city, and the seat of power for over a millennium, Prague Castle is home to the cathedral, the royal palace, several museums and art galleries and the presidential palace
• Ornamental Baroque gardens hidden away in the steep backstreets of Mala Strana, the Old Town.
• Charles Bridge, the city’s wonderful stone bridge, peppered with Baroque statuary, has been the main link between the two banks of the river for over five hundred years.
• Prague’s busy showpiece square dominated by the Art Nouveau Hus Monument and best known for its astronomical clock.
• Prague’s former Jewish ghetto is still home to six synagogues and an atmospheric medieval cemetery.

Sunday, 24 June
Shuttle to Prague airport… 12:45 PM departure on Czech Airlines or Tarom Romanian Airlines for 2 hour non-stop flight to Bucharest Airport… 2.5 hour bus ride to Transylvania and our first town of Brasov, our home for the next 2 nights…3 star Hotel Casa Wagner (www.casa-wagner.eu )

Monday, 25 June
All day to explore Brasov… Brasov is an enchanting city with fairy-tale turrets and cobbled streets…wander its maze of streets, stopping at bohemian cafes… Brasov has an interesting mix of Austro-Hungarian gingerbread roofs, baroque architecture, and medieval spires… the main square is a people watching mecca…cable car ride to Mount Tampa, towering over the city…optional hikes…Brasov is an outdoor type of place best explored on your own. Stay in Brasov

Tuesday, 26 June
2 hour drive, wandering bucolic valleys to discover Saxon villages and their fortified churches…this area is filled with rolling hills that can easily feel lost in centuries past… we will stay in Sighisoara for the next 3 nights…stay at the 4 star Hotel Central Park (www.hotelcentralpark.ro )

Wednesday, 27 June
All day to explore Sighisoara… from the moment you enter its fortified walls, winding your way along cobblestones to its centerpiece square, you will enjoy your time here….its narrow streets have lustrously colored 16th century houses… its UNESCO castle, one of the best preserved in Europe, was the home of Vlad the Impaler… many of the sights are conveniently clustered in the compact old town… stay in Sighisoara.

Thursday, 28 June
All day bus tour featuring the Saxon villages of Viscri and Biertan… Biertan’s medieval church is unforgettable, towering over the square below and backed by vineyards… Viscri is as rustic as it gets… stay in Sighisoara.

Friday, 29 June
1.5 hour drive to Sibiu…visit villages of Malancrav, Medias, Richas, and Bazna enroute…Sibiu was the first Eastern European city to gain the prestigious status of a European Capital of Culture…stay 2 nights at 4 star Hotel Council… (www.thecouncil.ro ) and the 3 star Casa Luxemburg… (www.casaluxemburg.ro )

Saturday, 30 June
All day to explore Sibiu…Sibiu as an Upper Town, containing more historic sites than any other city in Romania…it has many pedestrian streets and 3 easily navigated squares and a Lower Town with its charming tangle of old houses and cobbled streets…Sibiu has many concert halls, theatres, and galleries…Sibiu is a great city to explore on foot and its squares and terraces create an almost Mediterranean atmosphere….optional 4 mile walk from villages of Cisnadie to Cisnadiora, along a lovely country road lined with orchards and poplar trees…stay in Sibiu

Sunday, 1 July
Visit villages on the way to the Transfagarasan Highway, one of the top rated mountain drives in the world…it is a spectacular and exciting drive…4 hour drive, with several stops, to Bucharest Airport hotel…hotel not yet reserved

Monday, 2 July
Depart hotel for shuttle to Bucharest airport… TAP Airlines flight #1325 departs Bucharest at 7:00 AM and arrives LIS airport at 9:35 AM … TAP Airlines flight #201 departs LIS at 12:45 PM and arrives Newark Airport at 3:50 PM… Charter bus will deliver us to Elite Coach at approximately 8:00 PM.
